COOPER LANDING — Alaska State Trooper K-9 “Chevron,” located about a pound of marijuana during a traffic stop on the Sterling Highway last month.
Chevron’s work began after troopers stopped a black Chevy truck driven by Cole G. Sprinkle, 22 of Wasilla, near Mile 42, Sterling Highway near Cooper Landing at 3:58 p.m., June 30.
The K-9 officer sniffed out a pound of pot in the vehicle and a user's quantity of marijuana held by passenger Katelyn M. Dennis, 21 of Wasilla.
Sprinkle was arrested for fourth degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and remanded to the Seward Pre-Trial Facility with no bail.
Dennis was issued a summons for sixth degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and released with a promise to appear in court.
