HOMER — Colony made a push, but ultimately, the Knights ran out of steam.
The Kenai Kardinals scored a 71-48 win over Colony during the Northern Lights Conference consolation semifinals at Homer High School Saturday morning. Kenai moved into the NLC third-place match, but suffered a 63-53 loss to Palmer later in the day.
AJ Hull and Tyler Spalding sparked Kenai early, scoring a combined 21 points during a 42-point Kenai first half. Spalding scored 11 of his 15 points during the first half, and Hull added 10 of his game-high 18 during the first two quarters.
Junior Jared Turner led the Knights with 16 points. Senior Tanner Enloe added 12 points.
