Karrie Aprill Lytle-Ferrell

Funeral services for Karrie Aprill Lytle-Ferrell, 70, will be on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM with a Visitation from 12 Noon to service time at Valley Funeral Home, 151 E Herning Ave, Wasilla, with Rev. William Hamilton officiating.

Karrie was born on April 23, 1947 in Wiesbaden, Germany to Stanley Standafer and Katharina Anna Schwarz-Standafer. She came to Alaska as a young teenager and spent all of her life here except from 1974 to 1982 when she lived in Burwell, Taylor and Sargent, Nebraska. She lived and worked in Palmer until 1990 when she moved to Anchorage.

She worked as a cook, bartender & waitress for several restaurants in the Valley including the Bounty and Valley Hotel. She was a nutritionist and cook at Valley Hospital until she was injured in about 1985. She was retrained and was a secretary at Kehl’s Palmer Mortuary for several years. She then was Executive to the President of Northern Television. After Northern Television was sold she then worked for Alaska Children’s Services in Human Resources. She had to retire due to poor health in 2004. She kept herself busy by giving her grandchildren words of wisdom.

She loved to cook and bake. She was on a bowling league for many years. She helped many of the youth in Palmer over the years. She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Ferrell of Anchorage; 3 sons, Carl Aprill of Wasilla; Randy Lytle of Palmer and Rick Lytle of Norfolk, NE; 2 daughters & Son-in-law, Kandy Lytle of Lincoln, NE and Kelcey & Gene Timperley of Lynch, NE. 1 Step Daughter & Son-in-law, Elesha & Alvin Ancheta of Anchorage; 2 sisters & brother-in-law, Doris Sullivan-Huck & Bob Huck of Concord, NC and Barbara Lawrence of Fairbanks, AK. 14 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that Memorial Contributions be directed to AK SPCA Clinic, 3710 Woodland Drive Suite 1200, Anchorage, AK 99517 OR Friends of Pets, P.O.
