Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Katherine Anderson passed away peacefully on Dec. 2, 2004 in Tacoma, Wash. She joined her husband in heaven, where he has been waiting for her for 32 years.
Services were held Dec. 7 in Tacoma, Wash.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Wisconsin in 1922, but grew up in Tacoma, Wash. After graduating from Lincoln High School, she worked at Mount Rainier National Park, Longmire and Paradise Inn.
She married Theron (Andy) in 1946 and they lived in Ashford, Tacoma, Federal Way and Alaska.
Mrs. Anderson loved music, sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, holidays and her children.
Her family wrote, "She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed painting pictures of Mount McKinley. She loved God and was a very devout Episcopalian, always helping others with a beautiful smile."
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her children and their spouses, Theron (Andy) and Kay Anderson of Wasilla; Christine Anderson-Kueler and Randy Kueler of Tacoma, Wash. and Barbara Amett-Myatt and Eric Myatt of Willow, Wash.; grandchildren, Dusty Amett, T.J. Anderson and Nathan Strickland and great-grandchildren, Damon and Katie.
The family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
