Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Mrs. Kathryn Ruth Gibson, 79, died of natural causes July 24, 2003, at North Star Assisted Living Home in Palmer.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held Sunday, Aug. 10, in Hatcher Pass. For more information, please call Mr. Jesse Gibson at 357-1914.
Mrs. Gibson was born Sept. 17, 1923, in San Bernardino, Calif.
She was a graduate of Tehachapi High School.
Mrs. Gibson became a resident of Alaska in October 1960. She lived in Anchorage until 1970, and then moved to Wasilla. She was self-employed in the real estate business from 1973 until her retirement in 1988.
She was a member of the Unity faith and was a member of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Gibson served on the Mat-Su Borough Assembly for one year and also served on the Valley Board of Realtors.
She enjoyed fishing, camping and oil painting.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by her husband Jesse Gibson; her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Ted Graham; sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Mary Vincent and Philip Vincent; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
