Kelley and Arnold, united in August

John Kelley and Autumn Arnold exchanged marriage vows in a ceremony of love and commitment held Aug. 18 at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center in Santa Cruz, Calif. The couple celebrated with extended family and friends at a reception at the Battle Island Clubhouse.

Arnold is the daughter of Jim and Mary Arnold, who were residents of the Mat-Su Valley from 1976 to 1984. She is the granddaughter of Irene Arnold of Fulton, Calif., and the late Liberty Arnold, and Dolores Levan and the late Jay Levan. Jay and Dolores Levan homesteaded along the Knik Road during the 1940s with Mary Arnold until the 1960s.

Kelley is the son of James and Lorraine Kelley of Aiken, S.C.

Following their ceremony and Labor Day celebration, the couple traveled for three weeks to Sipadan, Malaysia, and Luang Prabang, Laos.

Arnold is a graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School in New York, having also attended schools in the Mat-Su Valley until 1984. She earned her B.A. in English and women’s studies at Duke University in North Carolina.

Kelley is a graduate of South Lakes High School in Reston, Va., and earned his B.S. in physics and mathematics from Duke University.

The couple now resides in Madison, Wis., where she is an associate with Deloitte Consulting and he is earning his doctorate degree in particle astrophysics at the University of Wisconsin.
