June 21, 1929 - March 04, 2026 Our beloved dad, grandpa, great grandpa, great papa and friend, began his next journey peacefully in his sleep on March 4, 2026. He was born in Anchorage Alaska, June 21,1929, after his mother rode from Matanuska to Anchorage on a ’speeder’...a gas powered cart on the Alaska Railroad. He grew up on his family’s dairy farm. After graduating from Palmer High School, and serving in the Alaska Guard, he yearned for something different. He worked for a time in Dillingham, then left Alaska for college where he earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering and Agriculture. As a highway engineer for the State of Alaska, he was involved in decades of transportation projects designed to improve road access. He briefly worked in the private sector as a professional engineer during Alaska pipeline construction, and also served as Alaska’s Director of Agriculture. He leaves behind son Kelly (Kathryn), grandchildren Kara (Leo), Karlea (Travis), Kelly, great grandchildren Rylea, Myriad, Gracyn, Integrity, Arcea, William, and sister Mary Ann. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years Bernice, and son Kevin. At his request, no services will be held. His ashes will forever rest in the Palmer Cemetery.
