Mr. Godwin was born May 31, 1975, in Nuremburg, Germany. He came to Alaska with his family in 1977. He resided in Palmer for most of his life. He attended school in Palmer and took classes at M.S.C.C. to further his guitar-playing methods. He was employed as carpenter. He loved to build and create.

Mr. Godwin enjoyed many things: playing his guitar with the utmost of passion, writing music, the wind in his face and freedom that he found while riding his motorcycle, his best friend and dog Lissy who loved his soft touch. He was known for the roses that he often drew. As a teen-ager he would spend hours at the Pioneer Home helping the elderly.

His family wrote, "Kevin had many qualities, he truly was a gift to his mother and family. His mother remembers the excitement that he felt in Vegas, slot machine mania and countless phone numbers given to him from beautiful women at all the Casinos. His Aunt Linda remembers his outgoing personality. His Aunt Julie recalls their first introduction late in the evening with his wide smile and wild blonde hair. His Aunt JoAnn remembers hours of electric guitar playing in her backyard with carloads of friends showing up to join in the fun. His cousins remember his motto, 'Live life fast, full and fun, and forever young.' His son Jacob will carry on his bright blue eyes and smile. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him."

Mr. Godwin is survived by his mother Laura Godwin of Palmer; son Jacob; grandmother Betty Donn; uncles Mike, Chuck, Jim and David Donn; aunts Linda, Julie, Dena and Julianne Donn, JoAnn Botelho and Terry Wilkins; numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Keith Godwin and father Chet Godwin.
