For some, the holiday season starts with Thanksgiving, but for many others, the real start of the holiday season is Halloween! This year, start your holidays with Mat-Su College and ‘Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street.’
The Glenn Massay Theater at Mat-Su College is deep into preparations for this musical spectacular, set to debut on October 24 and running through November 9, 2025
The cast and crew are hard at work bringing a dark version of London to life—complete with razor-sharp suspense, haunting ballads, and a set design that transforms the stage into the smoky streets, sinister bakehouse, and barbershop the story requires. Special effects, live orchestration, and the Glenn Massay's full LED lighting (including a glowing moon centerpiece) will immerse audiences in Sondheim's dark masterpiece.
Helming this production is Mat-Su College's very own Corey Rausa, who has assembled a cast and crew bursting with local talent both on stage and behind the curtains. Together, they have created something truly unforgettable for the Mat-Su Valley. Corey can hardly contain his excitement, saying, "From elaborate costumes to chilling soundscapes, every ingredient is being crafted with precision to make the best 'worst pie' show in town!"
Tickets are on sale now at www.glennmassaytheater.com! Don't miss the chance to experience one of Broadway's most legendary thrillers, right here in the Valley.
Then, as the toy soldiers march steadily closer to the winter holidays, the Glenn Massay Theater wants to make sure you know about the rest of the awesome holiday productions coming soon to the campus stage.
