PALMER— The Kids Kupboard was selected as the “charity of choice” for the second annual Rev Alaska automotive Saturday at the Alaska State Fairgrounds.

“We're thrilled to be selected as the charity of choice to receive proceeds from this year's Rev Alaska event,” Kids Kupboard Executive Director, Lynette Ortolano wrote in an email.

Kids Kupboard is an after school, children’s meal program. Each meal is free of charge.

“Our steady growth, amazing community partnerships resulting in more than 20,000 volunteer hours and more than 68,000 meals provided to more than 700 children in 2016 are testament that the community wants this program to continue it’s important work. We are committed to working towards a day when no child is hungry!” according to the Kids Kupboard website.

Rev Alaska is an all-in-one auto show designed for any engine-enthusiasts and their families. From hot rods and race cars to motorcycles and ATV’s. Twenty local auto groups will be showing off their rides and will compete in the show and shine event, according to the press release. There will even be helicopter rides provided by Heli Alaska.

“…if it revs, we want to see it!” according to Rev Alaska’s website.

Auto-included adults can catch a live engine demonstration every hour, attend an Industry Insight class or even test their pallets with a hot wing eating contest. A notable addition to the festivities are the UTV races, thanks to a collaboration with AMMC Racing. Kids should have plenty to do with bounce houses, face painting, crazy hair and other activities.

“It's an honor to be supported by this amazing group during this annual event. We want to remind the community that Kids Kupboard is here to support children with the nutritional foundation they need to learn and grow,” Ortolano stated in the press release.

“Last year's inaugural event brought out over 1,000 attendees and with the addition of races this year, it's bound to be a great turnout,” Ortolano wrote in an email.
