On the way home from seeing my dad at the hospital today, mom and I had to stop at Wal-Mart. It was crazy in there!
Anyway, we get to the checkout line and the computer was messing up and wouldn’t let the card go through credit or debit — it just kept rejecting it. It was getting really frustrating, and neither one of us had enough cash on us to pay the bill.
Then the guy behind us steps up and says, “Here, let me get it.”
He wouldn’t take no for an answer and he would not give us information so we could send him the money. He just said, “Have a nice day.”
It was $112 worth of stuff paid for by a complete stranger. It was a totally awesome, completely humbling experience.
Yes, we both had tears in our eyes as we walked out the door. Sir, I hope that you read this letter and know very much your act of kindness was appreciated. It was truly a bright spot in a dark week. Thank you!
