Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

PALMER - The Colony High School boys track and field squad won 13 of 17 events and ran way with the team title at the Mat-Su Borough Track and Field Championships this week.
The Knights posted 181 total points, 101 better than second-place Palmer.
Justin Schwartzbauer won a pair of events to lead Colony. The senior finished first in both the 110- and-300 meter hurdles. Schwartzbauer currently holds the state's best times in each event.
Mike Zagars (triple jump), David Registe (long jump), Allan Spangler (3,200), Roy Erhart (1,600), Peter Doner (800), Joe Cook (400) and Dustin Alwood (100) also won events.
Colony swept the four relays.
Palmer claimed three events en route to its second-place finish. Ethan Craddick edged Colony's Josh Morlan to win the 200. David Abbott won the high jump. Jake Heun posted a throw of 42-feet, 5-inches to win the shot put.
Andy Kappler led Houston with a win in the discus.
