PALMER -- The Colony Knights came from behind to beat the Palmer Moose 16-14 in C-team action at Palmer High School Tuesday.
The Moose shout out the Knights in the first half, but the Knights came out screaming in the second half to score 16 points and the victory.
On the first play from scrimmage in the second half, Clay Gangstead rumbled for an 81-yard touchdown for the Knights to cut the Palmer lead to 8-6.
Gangstead went off the right side and out-ran a barrage of Palmer defenders en route to his score.
The Moose quickly rebounded, scoring on the ensuing drive. Running back Alex Rhodes capped off a 10-play Palmer drive with a three-yard touchdown run.
Scott Beckman booted a 26-yard field goal for the Knights late in the third quarter to tighten the Palmer lead to 14-9.
On the following drive, Colony's Chirs Walsh recovered a fumble to give the ball back to the Knights. The Knights rode a steady running game to drive down the field. Kyle Coffman scored the go-ahead touchdown for the Knights.
Palmer first got on the board late in the first half. Rhodes found Levi Kincaid in the end zone for a 10-yard touchdown pass with 13 seconds remaining in the second quarter.
Kincaid caught the touchdown score in between a triangle of Knight defenders.
Eddie Stanley led the Moose with 84 yards on 20 carries.
Coffman ran for 101 yards for the Knights.
