SOLDOTNA — The Skyview Panthers gave the Colony Knights a nice little reminder on Saturday. Regardless of the score, don’t relax the attack.
Colony survived a second-half Skyview rally to score a 3-2 win over the Panthers in Soldotna.
“We told them when you go into (the second half) it’s 0-0,” Colony head coach Lori Miner said.
The Panthers were able to erase their deficit within an eight-minute span in the second half. During the 52nd minute, Nicole Tromblee knocked in an Alicia West cross to cut Colony’s lead in half. Tromblee scored again eight minutes later to tie the game at 2.
“They came back in the second half and we kind of got caught off guard,” Miner said.
The teams played tied deep into action, but Colony was able to score during the 78th minute to score the win.
Junior Brittney Anderson scored twice to lead the Knights. Senior Jamie Krediet also scored for CHS.
Colony’s victory over Skyview was its fifth of the week. After beating Grace Christian and Palmer on Monday and Tuesday respectively, Colony continued the run with a 3-0 win over Grace again on Thursday.
Anderson netted a pair of goals and Krystal Heimerl also scored for Colony.
On Friday, Krediet scored four times during an 8-0 win over the Homer Mariners in Homer. Sophomores Kiana Valdez and Ali Baker, and freshmen Bayli Jenski Rebecca Steel-Mackey also scored for CHS.
Freshman Jaden Chew earned shutouts against Grace and Homer.
