The Wasilla Warriors rallied, but fell just short. Wasilla scored three times in the bottom of the seventh, but Colony held on to notch an 8-7 win over the Warriors Monday night at Wasilla High School.
Colony used two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth to build an 8-4 lead. Carson McLaughlin led the Knights with two hits and three runs scored. Ben Alley and Kaden Ketchum added two hits and two RBI each. Colton Haase also scored twice.
Andre Brown was 3 for 4, with three RBI and a run to lead the Warriors. Nolan Murphy finished with two hits, two RBI and a run. Pedro Camacho collected two hit and two runs.
Wasilla needed only one inning to blast Homer 16-1 on May 15. The Warriors scored 16 times in the bottom of the first, and the game was called due to the 15-run mercy rule. Murphy hit a grand slam. Brown doubled and drove in two runs.
The Warriors blanked Soldotna 11-0 on May 14. Murphy collected two RBI and two runs, Brown, Byson Malave and T Dudley also scored twice.
Palmer cruised to a 17-2 win over Redington May 14. Gabe Jaime led the Moose with three RBI. Connor Heal, Landon Pitzman, Gabriel Wheeler and Drew Skube drove in two runs each.
Earlier that day, Palmer beat Kodiak 11-1. Owen Hayes, Adam Smithers and Stuart McQuillen had two RBI each,
