Knights lose bid for fourth

The Colony Knights fell short in their attempt Saturday to take fourth place in the 4A state hockey tournament in Soldotna.

Down 3-0 in the final period of the fourth-place game against West Valley, Colony scored three goals to tie the game and send it into overtime.

The comeback could not be completed as West Valley scored in the sudden-death extra period to win 4-3.

Seth Reda scored two of the Colony goals with Matt Piatt adding the third. Reda picked up an assist on Piatt's goal.

Colony got to the fourth-place game after falling to East 4-2 in a close game of the tournament opener Thursday and defeating Lathrop 5-1 Friday.
