Knights open hockey season with win

WASILLA — The Colony Knights dropped the puck on the 2018-19 prep hockey season, and opened with a 4-0 nonconference win over Houston Friday night at the Menard Sports Center in Wasilla.

Captain Blake Reid bagged a goal and an assist to lead the Knights. Kaden Ketchum, Dane Jellich and Carson McLaughlin added goals for the Knights, who outshot Houston 50-7

Kaylee Norman notched the shutout for Colony. Josh Smoldon made 46 saves for Houston.

South Anchorage 5, Wasilla 0

Logan Maddox scored a pair of goals and led South to a 5-0 win over Wasilla Saturday at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena.

South’s Hannah Hogeson recorded the 17-save shutout. Aaron Campbell made 26 saves in the Wasilla goal.
