Knights place pair in top 3 of Fairbanks ski race

FAIRBANKS — A pair of Colony athletes placed in the top 3 of the Kinross Fort Knox Town Race Series at the Birch Hill Recreation Area in Fairbanks Saturday.

Colony’s Jordyn Block finished second in the girls’ 5-kilometer race sponsored by the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks. Block finished with a time of 20 minutes, 7 seconds.

Dawson Knopp led the Colony in the 7.5-kilometer boys’ race. Knopp was third with a mark of 21:22.

Greta Jenkins (fourth), Coleen Geraghty (eighth) and Lisabeth Olsen (10th) also finished with the girls’ top 10 for the Knights.

Colony finished second overall in the girls standings and third in the boys standings.
