PALMER — The Colony Knights used a big inning to make a late push past rival Palmer last Monday night.
Colony plated eight runs in the top of the seventh to score an 8-1 win over the Moose at Hermon Brothers Field.
Peyton Garrettson gave Palmer an early lead with his run in the bottom of the third. The Moose held that advantage until the final inning. The Knights batted around in the seventh, and eight different players scored in the inning.
Matt Palmer and Cooper McLaughlin drove in two runs each to lead Colony.
Logan Sanders pitched a complete-game two-hitter to earn the win on the mound for the Knights. Sanders fanned three.
Tuesday night, Benjamin Werner finished 4 for 4 at the plate to lead Colony to an 11-3 win over Wasilla. McLaughlin was 3 for 3 in the win, and Palmer and McHugill each added two hits for the Knights.
McLaughlin and Palmer combined for seven of the Knights’ 11 runs in the victory over Wasilla.
Nolan Monaghan led Wasilla with a hit and two RBI. Werner pitched a complete game for Colony.
