WASILLA — The Colony Knights used a big second period to score a win over Palmer.
Colony scored three times during the middle frame, and skated to a 3-2 win over the Moose at the Menard Arena in Wasilla. Colony’s Owen MacDonald scored twice in a span of just more than three minutes. Mitchell Diltz added a score for the Knights.
MacDonald helped the Knights erase an early Palmer lead. Zach Nelius gave the Moose the 1-0 advantage with a goal at the 5:51 mark of the first. MacDonald tied the game with 12:38 left in the second, and put his team ahead with a power goal later in the period. Diltz provided the eventual game winner with 4:26 left in the second.
Darian Wilson added a late power play goal for Palmer.
Colony outshot Palmer 33-27 in the win. Roman Shepard made 25 saves in the Colony win. TJ O’Rourke stopped 30 shots for the Moose.
