KENAI — Hunter Eisenhower scored half of his game-high 18 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Colony boys to a 57-47 over Kenai on Saturday. He scored nine of the Knights’ 13 fourth-quarter points to help extend a slim one-point lead Colony lead at halftime into double digits in the second half.
Kenyon DePriest and Tim Smith each added eight for the Knights.
For Kenai, Tyler Spalding broke double figures with 11 points, but the team struggled from the foul line, hitting 5-of-13 free throw attempts.
For the Colony girls, another huge third quarter sparked a 48-31 romp that was decided in the second half. After going into the locker room at halftime trailing Kenai 18-16, the Knights exploded in the third quarter to outscore Kenai 21-6 and 32-13 in the second half.
Offensively, parity was the rule, as eight Knights found the scoreboard, led by 12 from Mary Klapperich and nine from Allison Leigh. Kenai was led by Raquel Young’s 13-point effort, but 11 of those points came in the first half. A stingy Colony defense held Young to a single bucket in the second half.
