PALMER — Colony’s Rina Inagaki seems to have a knack for striking early.
Inagaki, a foreign exchange student from Japan, posted an early goal for the second straight game to help the Knights earn a 7-0 Northern Lights Conference win over Palmer Tuesday at Palmer High School.
Inagaki found the back of the net during the sixth minute of play against the Moose. She also scored in the sixth minute of a 4-1 win over Ketchikan on Saturday.
Natalie Nordland led Colony with a hat trick in the victory. Annie Kessler scored twice, and Autumn Richardson added a goal.
Colony goalkeepers Maddy Zmuda and Ashlynn Cornelison split the time in net for Colony.
The Knights outshot Palmer 31-6.
In boys’ action, senior Ben Sande netted a hat trick to lead Colony to an 8-0 win over Palmer.
Sande scored in the sixth, 40th and 65th minutes of the win. Freshman Kyle Dearborn scored twice for Colony. Dearborn scored his first varsity goal, knocking a volley into the net during the 33rd minute. Dearborn added another goal in the 69th minute.
Cameron Shaw, Alex Valdez and Noah Krozel also scored for Colony.
Chance Fannon and Johnny Swope split time in net for the Knights.
Senior Peyton Johnstone scored four goals to lead Colony to a 7-1 nonconference girls soccer win over East Anchorage Wednesday at Colony High.
Colony scored five of its seven goals during the first half. Johnstone grabbed two during the first 40 minutes. Rina Inagaki and Gabby Wakaliuk also scored during the first half. Wakaliuk scored on her own corner kick.
Johnstone and Natalie Nordland added goals in the second half.
Colony goalkeepers Maddy Zmuda and Ashlynn Cornelison split the time in net for Colony.
Alex Valdez tallied a goal and two assists to lead the Colony boys to a 5-0 win over East.
Ben Sande added a pair of goals and an assist in the win. Kyle Dearborn also scored.
Chance Fannon made four saves to earn the shutout.
The Wasilla boys stood locked in a 1-1 tie with Houston at hafltime, but Wasilla used four unanswered goals to post a 6-1 victory over the Hawks Wednesday night at Wasilla High School.
Captain Kyle Broach led Wasilla with a hat trick.
Earlier in the day, Ally Hull scored twice to lead Wasilla to a 6-1 girls’ soccer win over the Hawks.
Jodie Richey, Alia Donley, Daijia Doughty and Abby Crawford also scored. Richey led the Warriors with two assists.
Oliva Matson earned the win in the Warriors net.
Chugiak scored twice in the final 15 minutes to force a 2-2 girls’ soccer tie against Wasilla at Chugiak High School Monday.
Alia Donley scored a pair of first-half goals for the Warriors.
The Wasilla boys suffered a 2-1 loss to the Mustangs Monday evening.
In other Wasilla soccer action, Service blanked the Wasilla girls 3-0 on Tuesday.
