Knights sweep Region III swimming team titles

The Colony Knights dominated during the Region 3 swimming and diving championships in Soldotna on Friday and Saturday.. History was made when the boys won regions for the first time. The girls also won regions this year. The three Valley schools had many top swimmers and divers.

The girls 200 Medley Relay was won by Colony this year with a 1:57.12 earning them a spot at state this weekend in Juneau. Hannah Cooper swam the backstroke of the relay with a 29.72 followed by Jasmine Anderson swimming breaststroke with a 29.91. Aubrey Bunch swam the butterfly with a time of 31.48, and Chloe Blackburn swam the freestyle with a time of 26.41. Palmer High School took 2nd with a time of 2:00.63.

The boys 200 Medley Relay has two teams earning spots into State. Palmer took 3rd with a time of 1:45.96. Landon Lee swam backstroke with a time of 27.53, and Peyton Neumann swam breaststroke with a time of 32.23. Jackson Charton swam butterfly with a time of 24.76, and Aidan Houser swam freestyle at 21.44. The Colony Knights also earned a spot at state coming in 4th with a time of 1:46.47.

Hannah Cooper from the Colony Knights swam the 200 freestyle coming in at 1:59.68 this earned her 1st in the region and 4th going into State. She also swam the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:21.94 earning her 1st at regions and seeded 2nd going into State.

Kellan DenBleyker of Colony swam the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:51.36 with a 3rd place finish, and he is seeded 8th going into State. He also swam the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:07.48 earning him 4th, and he is seeded 8th into State.

Pierce McDonough of Colony also swam the 200 freestyle with at time of 1:53.82 earning him 4th, and he is seeded 11th going into State. He also swam the 500 freestyle earning him 3rd with a time of 5:06.51, and he is seeded 6th into State.

Jasmine Anderson of Colony won the 200IM with a time of 2:10.82, and she is seeded 3rd going into State. He also won the 100 Breaststroke with at time of 1:03.74, and she is seeded 1st into State.

Reven Settle of Colony took 2nd in the 200IM with a time of 2:09.38, and he is seeded 10th going into State. He also swam the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.79 earning him 3rd, and he is seeded 10th into State.

Addie Charton of Palmer took 3rd in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.74, and she is seeded 10th going into State. She also 2nd in the 56.95 in the 100 freestyle, and she is seeded 12th going into State.

Aidan Houser of Palmer took 2nd in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.15, and he is seeded 3rd going into State. He also swam the 100 freestyle earning 2nd with a time of 48.95, and he is seeded 4th going into State.

Jackson Charton of Palmer swam the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.81 earning him 3rd, and he is seeded 8th going into State. He also swam the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.50 earning him 7th, and he is seeded 7th going into State.

Grady Dhondt of Colony swam the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.80 earning him 5th, and he is seeded 12th going into State. He also swam the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.21 earning him 5th, and he is seeded 13th going into State.

Colony Dive Team had Charlize McManus earn 2nd at regions, and he is seeded 2nd into State. Claire Wallstrum earned 3rd, and she is seeded 5th into State. Samantha Grisham earned 3rd, and she is seeded 6th into State.

Wasilla Dive Team had Samantha Geoghegan earn 6th, and she is seeded 12th into State. Travis Thornton won the region, and he is seeded 1st into State. He is won the male diver of the year for the region. Calvin Musgrave took 2nd, and he is seeded 4th into State.

Palmer Dive Team had Molly Althens earn 5th, and she is seeded 10th going into State.

Isaiah Hulien of Colony won the 100 butterfly with at time of 53.60, and he is seeded 4th into State. He also won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:56.36, and he is seeded 3rd going into State.

Landeyn Halstead of Colony took 4th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.56, and he is seeded 12th going into State. He also swam the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.27, and he is seeded 12th going into State.

Thomas Smith of Colony swam the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.36 and he took 5th, and he is seeded 14th going into State. He also swam the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.24 earning him 4th, and he is seeded 11th going into State.

The Colony Knights won the 200 freestyle relay for the boys with Kellan DenBleyker(23.96), Grady Dhondt(22.83), Thomas Smith(23.46), and Isaiah Hulien(22.63) with a total time of 1:32.88, and they are seeded 4th into State. Palmer is also going to State with their 200 freestyle relay for the boys with a time of 1:34.11. They earned 3rd at regions, and they are seeded 8th into State.

Jade Bamford of Palmer earned 3rd in the 500 freestyle 5:49.40, and she is seeded 13th going into State.

Nina Adams of Palmer took 2nd in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:13.41, and she is seeded 13th going into State.

Colony Knights took 3rd in the 400 freestyle relay for the girls consisting of Chloe Blackburn(59.76), Kendyl Ligman(1:01.45), Hannah Cooper(55.99), and Jasmine Anderson(55.10) with a total time of 3:52.30. They are seeded 7th going into State.

Colony Knights took 2nd in the 400 freestyle relay for the boys consisting of Kellan DenBleyker(51.19), Grady Dhondt(52.08), Pierce McDonough(52.08), and Isaiah Hulien(48.78) with a total time of 3:24.13. They are seeded 5th going into State.
