The Colony Knights swept the team titles at the Region III Championships cross-country skiing meet over the weekend in Homer.
The Colony boys finished about 12 minutes ahead of second-place Homer in total time in the standings, and the Knights girls edged runner-up Soldotna by 20 seconds.
Colony’s Gabriel Black was also named the boys skimeister of the meet. With a total time of 29:56, finishing just ahead of teammates Coby Marvin (30:00) and Raven Spangler (30:50) in the top three of the boys standings.
Black finished first in Friday’s race, with a time of 13:59. Marvin (14:12) was second and Spangler (14:34) placed third. On Saturday, Marvin was first at 15:49. Black (15:57) placed second and Spangler (16:16) was third.
Elliot Sensabaugh led the Colony girls with a win in Saturday’s race, and a time of 19:07. She was also second Friday with a time of 17:21.
Isela Austin was third on Friday (17:29) and Saturday (19:27).
Teigen Copp led the Palmer boys with an eighth-place finish (16:20) on Friday. Amelia Parker was sixth (18:35) for the Palmer girls on Friday and seventh (20:18) on Saturday. Kydle LaRousse was sixth on Saturday (20:16) and seventh (19:01) on Friday.
