Knights sweep team titles at Palmer Invite swim and dive meet

The Colony Knights swept the team titles during the Palmer Invitational swimming and diving at the Palmer Pool over the weekend.

Colony finished with 113 points in the girls standings and 83 in the boys standings. Both squads won a pair of relay events. The girls were first in the 200-yard freestyle and 400 freestyle relays. The boys earned gold in the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.

Hannah Cooper led the Colony girls with a pair of individual wins. Cooper was first in the 200 individual medley and the 500 freestyle. Claire Wallstrum was also first in the diving event.

Jerzey Lane (50 freestyle) and Lyza Krozel (diving) recorded runner-up finishes for the Knights. Kendal Ligman (200 freestyle and 100 freestyle), Nova Hinze (100 breaststroke) and Katie Dollick (100 freestyle) placed third.

Iver Gates posted first- and second-place finishes to lead the Colony boys. Gates was first in the 50 freestyle and second in the 100 freestyle. Beck LeBoucane won the 100 freestyle. Isaiah Hulien was second in the 200 freestyle, and Finn Nordstrom placed third in the 500 freestyle.

Palmer was second in the girls standings with 70 points. Mariel Gustafson and Kylie Benner each won a pair of events to lead the Moose. Gustafson was first in the 50 and 200 freestyle races. Benner won the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke. Jade Bamford was second in the 100 backstroke, and Briston Neumann placed third in the girls diving.

Anya Quass-Lee led Wasilla with a third-place finish in the girls 50 freestyle.
