The Colony Knights swept the team titles during the Frank Dieckgraeff Invitational Saturday in Seward.
The Knights tied Homer with 37 total points in the boys team standings, but finished first thanks to the tiebreaker. Senior Trygve Vang-Thompson led Colony with a third-place finish and time of 16 minutes, 49 seconds.
Colony edged Region III rival Soldotna by just a point in the girls standings. The Knights had 45 total points. Junior Aubrey Virgin also used a third-place finish to lead Colony, along with her time of 20:18.
Vang-Thompson was one of four Knights in the top 10 of the boys standings and six in the top 12. Senior Gabriel Black followed in fourth at 17:03. Junior Hunter Belliston (17:29), junior Theodore Stamoolis (17:35), junior London Ramirez (17:36) and sophomore Benjamin Aliberti (17:42) placed ninth through 12th for CHS.
The Colony girls had three in the top 10. Freshman Clara Sensabaugh was sixth at 20:38 freshman Klysa LeCount placed 10th at 21:33.
Wasilla, Palmer and Redington competed at the Big 8 Invite Saturday at Kincaid Park in Anchorage.
Wasilla junior Hailee Giacobbe, the defending Division I girls state champion, continued her tear with her fifth straight victory this season. She posted a time of 19:12 to win the girls varsity race.
Palmer senior Bodie Miller led Mat-Su athletes in the boys varsity race, with a runner-up finish and time of 16:29.
Wasilla freshman Justin Dalitsch finished 15th at 17:22 to lead the Warriors.
Palmer junior Karley Tichenor led the Moose girls at 17th with a time of 21:03.
