The Colony boys and girls dominated the competition during the annual Throw Down in Snow Town wrestling tournaments in Valdez over the weekend.
The Knights swept the team titles, and the boys and girls combined to win 14 weight classes.
David Walz (103 pounds), Ethan Wright (112), Hudson Vanderpool (119), Rowyn Mayer (125), Landon Foust (145), Tristen Mayer (152), Byron Reynolds (160) and Ian Pfeifer (285) won their weight class for the boys. Grace Loutzenhiser (100), Tanellei Trebizo (114), Braelyn Troxell (126), Lily Groundwater (132), Halyen Hocking (165) and Brianna Peters (235) each finished first in their bracket for the Colony girls.
Axton Gill (119), Regan Yundt (130), Dawson Folcik (140), Dave DuToit (145) and Timothy Silkat (160) placed second for the Colony boys. Tiffany Churchill (107) and Bella Dull were second for the girls.
Colony had 296.5 total points in the boys standings, and 165 in the girls.
Redington was the runner-up in both the boys and girls team standings. The Huskies had 159 points for the boys and 147.5 for the girls.
Eulalia Roman (107), Josephine Granger (145) and Lily Fogelman (152) led Redington with first-place finishes in the girls tournament.
Seth Shepard (112), Eben Caulkins (135), Christian Marquez (152) and Michael Marquez (171) placed second in the boys tournament. Alexis O’Mary (114) and Jayli Jones (138) were second for the Redington girls.
Truxton Williams led the Wasilla boys with a first-place finish at 140. Jackson Nagl (285) was second. David Twitchell placed second for the Houston boys at 189.
Palmer competed at the Top Dog Invitational in Niksiki. The boys were fourth with 140 points. The girls were fifth with 98 points.
Johnny Martinez was second for the Palmer boys at 135, and Lilly VanSiegman placed second for the girls at 145.
Wasilla was at the Battle of the Interior duals tournament hosted by Lathrop in Fairbanks. Wasilla was third in the boys class and fourth in the girls.
