The Colony Knights track and field team swept the team titles during the Wasilla Invitational at Wasilla High School over the weekend.
Annelise Larsen and Aubrey Virgin each won a pair of events to lead the Colony girls to a first-place finish in the team standings. Larsen won the 200 meters with a time of 27.48 seconds, and the 400 with a time of 1:00.53. Virgin won both the 800 (2:29.72) and 1,600 (5:33.96).
Larsen was also third in the 100. Maria Belliston was the runner-up in the 800 and Denali Anderson-Berghoff was third in the 200.
Colony finished with 121 points in the team standings.
The Knights earned three individual titles in the boys class. Kenton Phelps was first in the discus with a distance of 134 feet, 8 inches. Kenneth Motton won the triple jump with a mark of 39-0.25. Jerome Vito was first in the 110 hurdles with a time of 18.48.
Andrew Richardson (discus) and Nolan Thaler were also a runner-up in the throwing events. Motton (400), Daniel Baybon (200) and Logan Ramirez (300 hurdles) placed third.
Palmer finished second in the girls team standings. Leila Petersen (200), Karley Tichenor (3,200), Abby Pettit and Avery Johnson (high jump) all placed second.
Mark DeArmond led the Wasilla boys with a win in the 100, and time of 11.63. Barak Wagle (high jump) was second, and Stephen Hafen (800) placed third.
Alexia Pike led Redington with a runner-up finish in the girls discus.
Tobias Bailey finished third in the 110 hurdles for the Palmer boys. Mikayla Comptons was third in the 300 hurdles for the Wasilla girls.
Cayman Kingery led Susitna Valley with a second-place finish in the 300 hurdles. Calia Fish was third for the Rams in both the 1,600 and 3,200.
