The Colony Knights boys and girls track and field squads swept the team titles during the Wasilla Invitational over the weekend at Wasilla High School.
The Colony girls finished with 302 total points in the team standings, more than three times the total of runner-up Grace Christian. Ella Hopkins and Rylee McIntosh led Colony with a pair of wins each. Hopkins placed first in both the 1,600 and 3,200-meter races. McIntosh placed first in the high jump and triple jump. Lucy Shea also won the 3,200 for Knights, and Kylie Wallace was first in the 100 hurdles.
Morgan Ainsworth added runner-up finishes in the 800 and 1,600. Stella Rose was second in the 3,200. Mariella Belliston placed third in the 400 and 800, and Wallace added a third-place finish in the 300 hurdles.
The Knights finished first in the boys team standings with 222 total points. Matthew Rongitsch earned a pair of wins, finishing first in the 1,600 and 3,200. Jack Nash was first in the long jump. Christopher Cayson was second in the high jump and triple jump, and Jeriel Robles placed second in the 100 and 200.
Wasilla was second in the boys team standings with 205 total points. Deshawn Campbell led Wasilla with three first-place finishes. Campbell won the 110 hurdles, high jump and long jump. Timothy Grisso swept the sprints, placing first in the 100 and 200. Grisso was also third in the 400. Darion Campbell was also second in the long jump.
Mya Campbell led Redington with a win in the girls long jump.
Makayla Compton was first in the 400 and third in the 200 to lead the Wasilla girls. Kinley Bruno was third in the 3,200.
Arthur Merritt led the Palmer boys with runner-up finishes in the 100 and 300 hurdles, and was also third in the 200.
Avery Johnson was second in the high jump and third in the long jump for the Palmer girls.
