Knights sweep Wasilla swim meet

The Colony Knights swept the team titles during the Wasilla Invitational swimming and diving meet last weekend.

Colony finished with 172 total points in the girls standings and 160 in the boys.

Merica Miller led the Colony girls with a pair of first-place finishes. Miller won the 50-yard and 500-yard freestyle races. Lori Houghton (200 individual medley) and Kylie Benner (100 butterfly) also finished first for the Knights. Colony also won the 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle girls relays.

Isaiah Hulien won two events to lead the Colony boys. Hulien was first in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Hulien was one of four Knights to finish first in an event. Kellan DenBleyker (200 IM), Kristofer Vangorder (50 freestyle) and Reven Settle (100 backstroke) were also first for the Knights. The Colony boys won the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

The Palmer Moose finished as the runner-up in both the girls and boys teams standings.

Addie Charton finished first twice to lead the Palmer girls. Charton won the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Nina Adams (100 breaststroke) and Ally Hrncir (diving) also won events.

Jackson Charton finished first in the 100 freestyle to lead the Palmer boys, who also won the 200 medley relay.

The Wasilla Warriors also won a pair of events. Kaylin Klotunowitch was first in the girls 200 freestyle relay and Deshawn Campbell was first in the boys diving.
