PALMER — Colony used a big first inning to grab a 14-4 win over rival Palmer Thursday at Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer.
Colony scored nine first-inning runs in the victory. The Knights tacked on at least a run in each of the following four innings.
Cooper Smith continued his tear at the plate, finishing 4 for 4 with two runs in three RBI. In consecutive wins (a victory over Houston Wednesday and the win over Palmer Thursday) Smith was a combined 9 for 9 at the plate. Kolten Ketchum finished 3 for 5 with three RBI and three runs scored. Trace Severson drove in two runs. Cole Doss and Trenton Walters scored two each.
Peyton Garretson led the Moose with two hits and three RBI. Cody Grogan scored twice for Palmer.
