The Colony Knights and Wasilla Warriors closed the prep wrestling regular season with runner-up finishes in a pair of tournaments. Colony was second in the Grace Grizzly Shakedown in Anchorage, and Wasilla placed second in the John Tobin Invitational in North Pole.
Colony finished with 358.5 total points in the annual tournament hosted by Grace Christian School. South won the title with 462.5 points.
The Colony girls led the Knights with five individual titles. Grace Loutzenhiser (100 pounds), Hayden VanderPool (114), Braelyn Troxell (120), Amelia Fawcett (138) and Noelle Buck (235) each won their weight class in the girls tournament. Tristen Mayer (152) and Jackson Weller (215) were first for the Colony boys.
Sophia Ellibee (107) placed second for the Colony girls, and Tegan Olson (160) and Luke Roderick (171) were second for the Colony boys.
Wasilla placed second in the John Tobin Invite in North Pole with 259 points. The host Patriots won the team title with 326.5 points.
Taylor Cooley (100), Taryn Wright (132) and Brynlee Lutz (138) won their weight class for the Warriors in the girls class. Achilles Alexander (130) and Kamryn Woodfork (285) were first for the Warriors boys.
Danielle Steiner (120) and Olivia Probasco (132) were second for the Wasilla girls, and Thailyn Reynolds (145), Kaleb Boothby (160) and James Lackey (215) placed second for the WHS boys.
Palmer and Redington also finished in the top five of the team standings in the Grace tourney. Palmer was third with 159 points and Redington placed fifth with 133 points.
Sarah Callender won the 128-pound class for the Palmer girls, and Kaelan Vesel was first for the boys at 189. Carson Mastberg was also second for the boys at 140.
Joy Walker (165) and Nikayla Miller (185) were both second for the Redington girls.
