The Colony boys were at home and the girls were on the road, but both swept a two-game Northern Lights Conference series against Kodiak.
The Colony boys capped their two-game set with a 69-28 win over the Bears Saturday at Colony High. Patrick McMahon led the Knights with 25 points. Colton Spencer added 12. The Knights raced past Kodiak 72-19 on Friday. Spencer hit five three-pointers and scored 17. McMahon added 16 and Jeremiah Hersrud chipped in 10.
The Colony girls beat Kodiak 59-19 Saturday in Kodiak. Tori Schwantes scored a game-high 15. Indiya Clarke added 13. Colony scored a 61-26 win over the Bears the night before. Clarke led Colony with 19. Schwantes added 14.
Warriors score win over Stars
The Wasilla Warriors swept a pair of games against Northern Lights Conference rival Soldotna Friday night at Wasilla High School. The Wasilla girls used an early run to beat SoHi 43-28. The Wasilla boys beat the Stars 51-42.
In girls’ action, Wasilla opened the game on a 22-7 run. The Warriors also held the Stars to single-digit scoring in each quarter. Jazylnn Novelli led Wasilla with 15 points and Jordyn Cox added 14. Bella Hays notched a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Luke Devine led the Wasilla boys with 18. Dylan Jeffus hit a trio of three-pointers and added nine.
The NLC rivals split on Saturday. The Wasilla girls beat SoHi 63-43 on Friday. Novelli and Hays scored 15 points each to lead the Warriors. The Soldotna boys beat Wasilla 52-40 Saturday.
Moose fall in Kodiak
The Palmer girls suffered a pair of losses in Sitka. The Wolves beat the Moose 47-33 on Saturday. Catherine Uschmann led the Moose with 18 points. Sitka beat Palmer 56-39 on Friday. Dazhane Maclean led Palmer with 11.
Hawks swept at ACS, Lions boys beat Palmer
Anchorage Christian scored a pair of wins over Houston Friday in Anchorage. The ACS girls beat the Hawks 71-22. The Lions earned a 69-52 win in boys action.
The ACS boys also beat Palmer 66-52 Saturday.
