PALMER — Fueled by 13 wrestlers in the finals, Colony cruised to the team title of its own tournament, dominating the eight-team field at the Colony Invitational Saturday.
The Knights crowned eight champions and five wrestlers finished as a runner-up. Colony had wrestlers competing in 11 of the 15 first-place matches. Colony also had teammates facing off in two different weight classes.
The Knights finished with 227.5 points overall, nearly 100 more than runner-up Kenai Central.
Soren Simpson (106 pounds), Chase Booth (113), Dawson Nash (132), Spencer Adams (145), Kamber Lucas (152), Kody Nash (160), Logan Conway (170) and Riley Fredrickson (182) each won their weight class. Jordan Nero (126), Robert Haan (138), Tyler Loutzenhiser (145), Wade Booth (160) and Mitchell Daigle (285) all finished second.
Zech Rockstad won the 220-pound class to lead the third-place Warriors. Bruce Hill (98), Logan Albrecht (120), Blake Marks (160) and Brady Ingersoll (195) finished second.
Wasilla, which also sent wrestlers to the John Tobin Invitational in Fairbanks Saturday, placed third with 128 pounds.
