Knights win combined team title at Colony Invitational

PALMER — The Colony Knights are off to a strong start.

Colony earned the combined scores team title during Saturday’s Colony Invitational at Palmer Pool.

Alex Kessler won a pair of individual events to help the Knights finish first in the overall standings and second in the boys’ team results.

Kessler finished first in both the 100-yard breaststroke and 200 freestyle.

Kayla Anderson placed second in the 200 individual medley to help lead CHS to a second-place finish in the team standings. Anderson was also second in the 500 freestyle. Saige Stefanski finished third in the 100 butterfly and fifth in the 50 freestyle for Colony.

The Colony boys won the 200 freestyle relay.

Spencer Bloom won a pair of events to lead the Palmer Moose to a third-place finish in the boys’ team standings. Bloom was first in the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle. Zack Bloom finished first in the 100 freestyle and Joe Provo won the 1-meter dive for the PHS boys.

Katie Stark led the Moose girls with a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle and third-place mark in the 50 freestyle.

The Palmer girls won the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Kaitlin Dault led Wasilla with a win in the girls’ 100 breaststroke.
