The Colony Knights crowned eight individual champions and earned the team title during the North/South Invitational wrestling tournament Nov. 11 at Wasilla High School.
Noah Justice (103 pounds), Jake Olson (112), Ty Hermon (130), Matthew Mitchell (135), Laramie Gibson (145), Tristen Meyer (152), Willem Erickson (171) and Nolan Gallagher (215) each won their weight class. Kaden Ortiz (125), Emiliano King (140) and Dominic Binder (152) were a runner-up. The Knights finished with 390.5 total points in the team standings.
Ezra Ginn (171), Kaelan Vesel (189) and Rueger Mothershead each finished first for Palmer, and helped the Moose place second in the team standings with 331 points. Wyatt Wilson (112), Clayton Mastberg (135), Cody Vansiegman (145), Nolan Deemer (160), Carter Paulson (189) and Harley Watkins (285) were all second for Palmer.
Wasilla finished third with 307 total points. Chase Foss (119), Peyton Wright (125) and Thailyn Reynolds (140) won their weight classes for the Warriors. Brigg Pettijohn (103), Achilles Alexander (119), Joseph Spangler (130) and Noah Benoit (189) were second.
Colony also had four individual champs in the girls tournament. Taylor Crosby (100), Sophie Ellibee (114), Amelia Fawcett (145) and Aspen Kelly (152) finished first, and Taila Jenkins (107) and Maila Matthews (114) were second.
Sarah Callender (126), Linsey Flores-Romo (165) and Noelle Buck (235) were also first for Palmer, and Julie Hardison (120) and Kaylee Paulson (152) placed second.
Laylah Wooten (120) led Wasilla with a first-place finish, and Brynlee Wooten (128) and Olivia Probasco (138) placed second.
Redington also competed in the Bush Brawl in Kotzebue. Eben Caukins (135), Myles Campbell (152) and Wyatt Milnes (189) each won an individual title. Isaiah Shepard (119) and PJ Kanz (215) were second.
