The Colony High Schools boys and girls swimming and diving team enjoyed another big weekend, this time in Soldotna.

In Friday’s SoHi Pentathlon, Colony swept the team titles. The girls had 228 to the 197.5 of runner-up Kodiak, while the boys had 508 to the 93 of runner-up Kenai Central.

In the Pentathlon, each swimmer does the 100 individual medley, the 50 butterfly, the 50 backstroke, the 50 breaststroke and the 50 freestyle. The five events are totaled to determine the winner.

Colony’s Iver Gates won at 2:40.57. Palmer’s Kylie Benner led Valley swimmers in the girls class, finishing third with a total time of 3:04.72. Colony’s Hannah Cooper used a total time of 3:07.31 to lead the Knights at fourth.

The Knights also swept the team titles at the Soldotna Invitational on Saturday.

The Colony boys finished with 130 total points, more than twice the total of runner-up Kenai.

Pierce McDonough (200 freestyle), Hudson Duguid (50 freestyle), Reven Settle (500 freestyle) and Landon Halstead (100 backstroke) each won individual events for the Knights. Colony also won the boys 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays.

Jackson Charton led the Palmer boys with a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly. Wasilla’s Colter Gose won the boys diving.

The Knights used 90 total points to win the girls team title. Palmer was second with 77.

Cooper (200 IM and 500 freestyle) and Katie Dollick (100 backstroke) won races.

The Colony girls also swept the top three in diving, with Charlize McManus, Samantha Grisham and Claire Wallstrum finishing first, second and third.

Benner was first in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly to lead Palmer. Nina Adams was also first in the 100 breaststroke for the Moose.
