The Colony Knights improved to 2-2 on the season after winning two of three games during a trip to Fairbanks last weekend.
After opening with a 4-0 loss to perennial hockey power West Valley last Thursday, Colony rebounded for 8-2 and 6-0 victories over Lathrop and North Pole.
Dean Shultz exploded for four goals against the Malemutes. Shultz scored a pair goals in the second period and scored two goals, 63 seconds apart in the third period.
Ryan Pauling notched a goal and two assists and Garrett Wilkins added two assists.
Tyrel Hinkel stopped 17 shots to earn his first career win.
The following night Pauling netted a hat trick and Hinkel earned his first career shutout with 14 saves in the Knights' win over the Patriots.
Pauling scored in the first, second and third periods and assisted on an Alex Lund goal.
Shultz and Alex Smith also scored in the contest.
Wasilla 7, North Pole 0
The Warriors blasted North Pole with 79 shots and seven different players scored as Wasilla routed the Patriots in Fairbanks last weekend.
Ronnie Walker stopped 28 shots in goal to earn the win.
Chugiak 2, Houston 1
In its third straight game against 4A competition, the Houston Hawks dropped its first game of the season to Alaska hockey power, Chugiak.
Chugiak took a 2-0 lead midway through the second period with a Shane Wheeler shorthanded goal.
Chad Lipse took a pass from Nathan England and scored with 5:52 left in the second period to cut the score to 2-1.
Paul Sutton-Jones registered 31 saves in the loss.
