Knik Museum appreciates event sponsors

To the editor;

The Wasilla-Knik Historical Society would like to thank Hobo Jim for providing a great afternoon of entertainment at the Knik Museum on Aug. 30. It was a free concert, with all donations and raffle proceeds going toward the upkeep of the museum.

The museum also was presented an Alaska Legislative Proclamation honoring Jack Dalton, who was instrumental in getting the first shipments of Chickaloon coal delivered to port in 1914. The proclamation will be on display at the museum above Jack Dalton’s desk.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank some of our sponsors, who have once again contributed talent, food, art, flowers, raffle prizes, hard work and supplies toward the benefit of the Knik Museum. Thank you to Aardvark Pizza Thyme, Big Lake Three Bears, Carrs-Safeway of Wasilla, Evangelo’s, Hobo Jim, Jacobsen’s Greenhouse, Krazy Moose Subs, Mahay’s Jet Boat Adventures, Red Robin, Heather Ruis, Jody Simpson, Spenard Building Supply, Subway, Talkeetna Air Taxi, WalMart, Eleanor Wilde, and all of our volunteers. Without these sponsors and others like them, events like this would not be possible.

The Knik Museum is located at Mile 13.9 KGB Road and is open to the public from 1-6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. For information on the museum, call 376-7755, or visit the website at wkhsociety.org.
