KODIAK — The Kodiak Bears continued their run through the Northern Lights Conference, edging Wasilla 3-2 (16-25, 21-25, 25-12, 26-24, 15-13) at Kodiak High School on Friday.
Wasilla took an early two-set lead in the match, but the Bears rallied for the win.
“They were excited and somehow in between they lost that excitement,” Wasilla head coach Claudia Fonseca said to the Kodiak Daily Mirror about her squad. “Our team has been up and down, and they did good. They fought for it and never gave up.”
Haley Taylor led the Warriors with 13 kills. Jolee Fife added 10 kills and three aces, while Taylor Steiner chipped in seven kills.
On Saturday, Kodiak beat Wasilla 3-1 (21-25, 25-19, 25-17, 31-29). The decisive fourth set marked the second time in three matches the Warriors have played in a game that hit the 30-point mark.
Taylor collected a match-best 14 kills in the loss. Steiner added 10 and Kayla Bell chipped in a pair of aces.
Kodiak improved to 10-2 overall, and 7-1 in the NLC, and pushed its winning streak to 10 matches.

SKYVIEW — The Palmer Moose scored a 3-0 (25-23, 27-25, 25-19) sweep of Skyview at Skyview High School on Saturday.
