A resident of Big Lake, Alaska, since 2016, Kristie Burns, 38, passed away on June 24, 2022, while at Mat-Su Regional Hospital, Alaska.
A service will be held on July 7th at Faith Bible Fellowship, 14225 W Kluane Dr., Big Lake, AK 99652, at 2:00pm and a burial will take place afterwards at 4:00pm at Palmer Pioneer Cemetery, 901 E Arctic Ave, Palmer, AK, 99654.
Mrs. Burns was born February 23, 1984, in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Kurt and Roberta Kleinow, and sister to Katie Reed and Tyler Kleinow. She graduated valedictorian from Richwoods High School, Peoria, IL. While studying at the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, IL, she met her husband, Evan Burns. They married January 14, 2006, and had twin sons, Elijah and Isaiah, September 23, 2009.
Mrs. Burns served with her husband and sons as missionaries in the Middle East, East Asia, Alaska, and Southeast Asia. When she was not in Alaska, she called Southeast Asia home. She was known for her contagious laughter, people-centered kindness, inquisitive mind, and tenacious devotion to living her life to the hilt for the eternal good of others and the glory of God.
She is survived by her husband and two sons, father and mother, and brother and sister. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to:
