Bluegrass, old-time and traditional music will fill the Willow Community Center early next month, and community radio will benefit in the process.
Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum, along with Todd Sickafoose, are performing at the Willow Community Center on Oct. 11 to help KTNA, Talkeetna's community radio station, raise funds.
The Capital Campaign fund-raiser is being held to help outfit a new studio and the first-ever local production studio at the radio station.
The modern facility will help KTNA to better serve the communities of the Northern Susitna Valley.
Tickets are $18, and $10 for children ages 10 and younger (it is an all ages show).
Tickets are available at all CARRS TIX locations and at tickets.com. Specially-priced tickets are available to Talkeetna Community Radio members. Members must pick up their tickets at the KTNA office on 2nd Street in Talkeetna.
For more information about the concert, interested people can contact Mike Lindgren at 733-1700.
This is the second fall fund-raising concert KTNA has organized. Last fall, the radio station organized a concert with Nickel Creek, a "newgrass" band that has recently been featured on Country Music Television (CMT).
Last year's show sold out at the 4th Avenue Theater in Anchorage.
This year, organizers wanted to bring the fund-raising concert to the Upper Susitna Valley.
Lewis, Rozum and Sickafoose are award-winning acoustic musicians and vocalists, and organizers are excited about hosting them in Willow.
