Late-night crash claims life.

On late Saturday evening, Fire and EMS crews, Alaska State Troopers, and the Wasilla Police responded to mile 46 of the Parks Highway in Wasilla for the report of a 2-vehicle head-on collision. Investigation revealed Gary Beall, age 68 of Wasilla, was traveling north bound in the south bound lanes in a red 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, when Troopers say his vehicle struck a black 2014 Cadillac sedan head-on that was being driven by Kiprian Ivanov, age 18 of Wasilla.

“Beall was declared deceased on scene, and Ivanov was transported to a hospital with serious injuries,” troopers wrote. “There were no other occupants in either vehicle.”

The Parks Highway traffic was temporarily diverted onto an adjacent road. Beall’s body will be taken to the State Medical Examiner’s office.

The investigation is ongoing.
