Late night sirens irritate

To the editor:

I've lived in the same house now for 30 years, a half a block off the Glenn Highway in Palmer city limits. My question is, is it really necessary for emergency vehicles, police, fire and ambulances to sound their sirens in the early morning hours when there is no traffic on the road? Years ago they used to just run their lights when it was really late at night or early morning hours. Now I hear them at all times of the day and night causing every dog in the neighborhood to bark and just being a nuisance. What ever happened to keeping the peace?
