HOUSTON — Brian Mason led Houston with 13 points, but Lathrop outscored the Hawks 21-14 in the fourth quarter to pull out the 57-48 Mid-Alaska Conference win in Houston Friday night.
Scott Herman has 11 points for Houston, Ben Castleberry had seven, Zack Qual had six, Jon Tymick and Ryan Contreras scored four apiece, Jeff Thompson had two and James Steed added one.

Lathrop girls race past Hawks
HOUSTON — Houston got 16 points and eight rebounds from guard Jen Mason, but it wasn’t enough to slow Lathrop, which opened the game on a 20-8 run and never looked back for a 56-40 Mid-Alaska Conference win Friday at HHS.
Mason hit four three-pointers for the Hawks in the game. Emily Hundley added 11 points for the Houston, which also got six from April Morlock, three from Ema Olson and two each from Kelsey Thamm and Alyssa Acton.
Houston shot just 27 percent from the field in the game.
