Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Talkeetna resident Lawrence B. "Lance" Albee, 56, died from liver cancer Feb. 16, 2002, in Talkeetna.
A memorial gathering will be held from
1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Michelle's Cafe in Talkeetna. His ashes will be scattered
on March 3, on his home property.
Mr. Albee was born Nov. 2, 1945, in Boston, Mass. He completed high school and served in the U.S. Air Force. He came to Alaska on Sept. 8, 1988, and resided in
Talkeetna.
He restored antique English motorcycles in Boston. Mr. Albee was an Alaska State Certified Firefighter I, a member of the USAF Jewish Defense League in Boston, and was
instrumental in starting Vietnam Veterans Against the War in Boston.
He was preceded in death by his son, Sean.
Surviving are his wife, Susan; children, Doreen, Sam, Christopher and Mark; and grandchildren, Ricky, Crystal, Gracie, Samantha, Courtney and Timothy.
Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home and Crematory of Wasilla.
