Leah Rae Tyler, 70, resident of Wasilla, died Aug. 30, 2005, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. In respect of her wishes, no services will be held.
Leah was born November 13, 1934, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She attended W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi. After living in Texas, Oregon and Washington, she moved to Wasilla in December of 2002.
Her lifelong career was as a domestic engineer and a mother, at which she excelled. She graciously volunteered her time at the Wasilla Senior Center and the Wasilla Food Bank.
She enjoyed painting, photography, gardening, the splendor of nature, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family and dear friends.
The family wrote: "To our Beautiful Mom. Did you ever know that you're my hero? You're everything I wish I could be. I could fly higher than the eagle, for you are the wind beneath my wings. Thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings. With eternal love, your children."
Leah will be honored in life by her daughters, Lucretia, Karen, Vickie and her son, Chris; her grandchildren, Hayden, Javen, Tisha, Kirsten and Nathan; her great-granddaughters, Callista, Caitlyn and Kristen; her sister, Shirley; her niece, Brenda; nephews, David and Danny; her sons-in-law, Ken and Rick; Children of her Heart, Lori, Sharon, Deanna and Jeff; her dearest friends, Connie and family, Emily, Maxine; and all the wonderful folks at Senior Campus that made her last years such a joy.
She was welcomed into heaven by her Mother and Daddy, Opal and Clyde Rowland; her grandsons, Michael, Willis, Jesse, Dusty and Sonny; and her niece, Carla Jo. Her ashes will be spread on Mt. Hood in Oregon.
Donations can be made in her honor to the Wasilla Senior Center, 1301 Century Circle, Wasilla, Alaska 99654. Arrangements are with Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wasilla.
