LeeAnn “Annie” Heffele was born on September 4th, 1951, to F. Gordon and Helen Ray (Bute) in Miller, South Dakota, where she was raised and received her education. After her graduation from Elkton High School in 1969, she attended Pipestone Area Vocational Technical Institute in Pipestone, Minnesota, and graduated in 1970 with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. On January 1, 1971, she was united in marriage to Bradley Heffele in Pipestone, Minnesota. In 2021 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Annie worked at the Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union (MVFCU) as the Collections Supervisor for over 36 years until her retirement in 2020. For many years she was a process server, and she also ventured with her husband at the Wasilla Auto Salvage, and the The New Guntraders stores. Annie was admitted to the Mat-Su Regional Hospital on the 1st of September where she peacefully passed of natural causes on Saturday, September 3, 2022, surrounded by her family. She passed at the age of 70 years and 364 days.

For over 12 years Annie was a Sunday School Teacher. She had a servants heart and volunteered her time to the Boy Scouts of America where she was a Scoutmaster, the Parent Teacher Association where she was elected as president, Area Toughlove Coordinator and Counselor, Consumer Credit Counseling, United Way, Junior Achievement, American Cancer Society Relay for Life coordinator and volunteer, and she formed the Employee Christmas Committee at MFVCU. Her hobbies included ironing, reading, sewing, crocheting and beading, and spending time with her family.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bradley Harry Heffele of Wasilla, Alaska; her five children, Jennifer Reader and her husband Charley of Nome, Alaska, Misty Adams and her husband Tom of Wasilla, Alaska, Jody Heffele and his wife Sherri of Linden, Tennessee, Mandy Tanner of Wasilla, Alaska, Julie Small and her husband Tyson of Wasilla, Alaska; 18 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Christopher Reader; and her beloved dog Grizz.
