To the editor:
I read Chuck Legge’s piece in “Valley Voices” in the July 13, 2014, edition of the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman and was very offended before finishing my first cup of coffee. To begin with, I could rebut with great effectiveness, every point he made. With ease and truth. However the Frontiersman obviously isn’t going to give me the microphone that Mr. Legge was given so my piece is limited to the space I believe the paper will allow and print. I will only address the insults Mr. Legge used and not deal with policy today. I do thank the Frontiersman for this opportunity.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a Teatotaler or dictatorial crazy, nor am I a member of a mob, but I do love our America for what she is.
After reading an article that I felt was inaccurate at best, and misleading, Mr. Legge goes on to verbally attack those that are concerned with our nations $17.5 trillion debt. That is the big issue with the TEA Party. Financial. Legge calls those that are concerned with this staggering debt “dictatorial crazies that have hijacked the GOP.” First, those people are your mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and fellow Americans who were elected by the people to stop the madness in Washington, D.C. Not the “teatotalers” or “dictators” as Chuck chooses to call them. Then Legge goes on to say Mrs. Palin is “throwing red meat to the mob.” Really? This is how Legge chooses to make points with his constituents, and it is very offensive and unappealing no matter which side of the arena it comes from. That’s the typical strategy of the left. Attack and call names so the respondent has to defend against the insults instead of addressing the issues. As I’m having to do now. People are waking up to the madness in D.C. and want to put a stop to the spending that’s sending us to a place we don’t want to go as a country. Legge chooses to insult these people who I would call the most patriotic among us. Mr. Legge would be well advised to stick with what he believes to be the facts (debatable facts) and stay away from the personal insults. I would also advise Legge to see the movie “America” by Dinesh D’Souza. His viewpoints might be adjusted a bit.
God bless America. We need it.
