Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Lifelong Alaska resident Leta Crossman, 36, died Jan. 12, 2004, at her home in Nikiski.
A Celebration of Life Potluck will be held from 3-6 p.m. Thursday at the Palmer Moose Lodge. Call Eydie Baller at 373-1145 for details.
Ms. Crossman was born May 23, 1967, in Anchorage. She graduated from Dimond High School where she was known for her abilities in commercial art. Her interests included a love of the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her mother Mae (Corey) Crossman. She is survived by her sister Coree Pruitt of California. Other survivors include uncles Dan Corey, Jack Corey, Frank Corey and Herb Belanger; aunts Eydie Baller, Dorothy Topolic and Kathy Anderson; many cousins and the entire Chickaloon Village Tribe.
Her family wrote, "Leta had very special qualities and always made people smile. She loved sharing with everyone … and she was my sunshine."
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Mortuary.
